International Women’s Day was celebrated on 08.03.2024 in CEL. Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary DSIR & (first female) Director General, CSIR and Mrs. Garima Jain, Principal Commissioner Income Tax and (first female) Joint secretary, Rajya Sabha Secretariat and Ex-officio Chairperson of CEL’s Women Welfare Cell have graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honor respectively. Under the leadership of Shri Chetan Prakash Jain, JS & FA, DSIR and Chairman & Managing Director, CEL and Smt. Sarita Koul, Executive Director (O & GA), the following activities were organized in CEL-

1. To promote health awareness amongst the female, CEL has organized 02 days Free Health Camp from 08.03.2024 to 09.03.2024 for check-up of all the women of nearby area of CEL Sahibabad. Approx. 250 women participated in Free Health Camp.
2. To promote self-employment among women, a skill center (Nayi Udaan) has been inaugurated for providing 06 months free certified beautician and sewing & embroidery courses for the women folks. Approx. 100 registrations have been received for the course.
3. To provide the support system to CEL employees, creche facility (Kilkari) was inaugurated so that the employees can keep their children under the age of 06 years in the creche.
4. Gym facility (Empower Fitness) and Roti Making machine was also inaugurated for the wellness and health of all the employees of CEL.
5. Guests also visited Smart Board Manufacturing Unit (SBMU), foundation stone of which was laid by Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR & Secretary DSIR.
6. It was also announced to allot 50 Lakhs to CSIR from CEL CSR Fund for the upliftment and encouragement of women folks.
